Every networking group is different. Which can make it challenging to know what to expect with each group you join. Some networking events are focused on professional development, while others are all about meeting new people and exchanging business cards. Ideally, a networking or leads group should offer you comprehensive networking and professional development opportunities so you can knock out your networking easily and effectively. Here’s what you can expect when you join a 4BR leads group.

Public Speaking

Public speaking is an important tool for every business person to have in their toolbox, which means that if you’re not comfortable with public speaking, you should be. 4BR groups offer regular public speaking opportunities in a supportive, small-group environment to polish your skills. Each group member will introduce themselves to other members upon joining a group in a 30 second commercial. This is similar to an elevator pitch and can help you develop a short, attention-grabbing way to describe your work. Members also regularly present on their business or a professional topic of their choice in 15-minute presentations. Not only does this help members have a good understanding of one another’s businesses for referral purposes, it also allows members to learn from one another’s professional knowledge.

Building a Business Referral Network

4BR member groups are designed to help your business grow by creating a robust referral network in industries outside of your own. Each 4BR group is industry-exclusive — meaning that there’s only one member from each industry allowed in a group. This allows you to create connections with other professionals and into community circles that you otherwise might not have access to.

4BR members build their referral network in a variety of ways:

  • 1-on-1 Meetings: 4BR group members are expected to meet regularly with other members of their group in 1-on-1’s. These 30-60 minute long meetings give members the opportunity to get to know one another on an individual level. Use 1-on-1’s as an opportunity to share information about your business, get professional advice or insight, and build your referral connections.
  • Referring to Other Members: 4BR members are expected to support their group by completing regular referrals. Members receive points for various referral activities (an outside referral, bringing a guest to a meeting, ongoing business, and perfect group attendance) that add up to equal the twelve points members are expected to reach each quarter.

Professional Development

Professional development is a key part of every 4BR group experience. It’s a part of every meeting, with opportunities to learn from other member’s knowledge. And professional development opportunities exist regularly outside of normal group meeting times, as well. There are two types of regular professional development with 4BR: Aligning Your Actions With Your Intentions Development Training (AAIDT) and MasterMind Round Table (MMRT). Both trainings offer members the opportunity to learn about business practices or hear from professional success stories in order to improve your own business dealings or strategies.

To join 4BR, check out leads groups in your area. We’re always accepting new members, and if you can’t find a group in your area, consider starting one!
